Privacy Policy

Comment Search for YouTube (the "Extension") loads comments and replies from YouTube videos so you can search them by content or author and export them to CSV/JSON.

What the Extension collects

Nothing is collected by the Extension. The Extension has no analytics, telemetry, tracking, or any server of its own. It makes network requests only to YouTube itself (to render the page you are already visiting) and, if you use the purchase flow, to ExtensionPay (see Purchases below).

How your data is handled

• YouTube comments you capture with the Extension are read from the page you are viewing and processed entirely locally in your browser. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with anyone.
• Search runs locally against the captured comments in memory.
• Exports (CSV/JSON) are generated locally in your browser and downloaded directly to your computer.

Local storage

The Extension uses the chrome.storage API to store only:

• the number of free exports you have used, and
• your license / paid status (including the anonymous ExtensionPay key).

This data never leaves your browser except the paid-status check described below, and is removed when you uninstall the Extension or clear its storage.

Purchases

If you choose to buy a license, you are taken to a checkout page hosted by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which processes the payment through Stripe. The Extension communicates with ExtensionPay servers only to check your paid status (via an anonymous key stored locally in your browser). Your email is only involved if you enter it at checkout or when logging in on another device; payment details are handled solely by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy. The Extension never sees your payment details.

Permissions

• storage — to remember your export count and license status.
• Host access to youtube.com — the Extension only runs on YouTube pages, where its single purpose (comment search and export) applies.
• Host access to extensionpay.com — used only for the optional purchase / license-login flow. Nothing on that site is read or modified beyond the payment status check.
